Last weekend we made our first Random Acts of Pie delivery to Sharon Tallent, who was nominated by her daughter-on-law Sara, who said of Sharon in her nomination email:
"She is so selfless and kind and it just comes naturally to her. She is there to help me at the drop of a hat if I need her, even taking the kids for me during what would be her own free time just so I can get something done or so my husband and I can have a night out. She does the same with her job, filling in and stepping up whenever she's needed. Even if it's Christmas Day. She works in a management role for a home health agency, so the job itself involves helping others, but this past Christmas when someone didn't show for their shift, she went out on Christmas Day to sit with the patient until they could get someone to fill in. Not in her job description, but she wasn't going to let someone go unattended on Christmas.
I could tell you a hundred stories just like that, of her selflessness with her family, friends, and neighbors. But now, my husband ( her son) and I are moving this week to Florida. Our two kids, her only grandchildren, will be coming with us[...]
It will be a big change for her since her focus is always on serving others. And I want her to know how much we love and appreciate her, and how now is the perfect time to start putting herself first! What better way to cheer and indulge someone than with PIE!!"
We had so much fun surprising Sharon with pies, and can't wait for our next surprise delivery with Radom acts of pies.
Do you know someone who could use a little extra sweetness? To nominate someone for a pie delivery, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org letting us know who you'd like to nominate and why.
